Scripture: Proverbs 16:1
"We can make our own plans, but the Lord gives the right answer" NLT
Throughout life it seems we are always waiting for something. Can't wait to drive. Can't wait to graduate from High School. Can't wait to finish college. Can't wait to marry. Can't wait for the first child. Can't wait to retire!
It appears life is always preparing us for the next level. And while we are anxiously waiting for the next season in our lives it is a great time to slow down and see what the Lord is preparing us for.
If life is a classroom for service to Jesus then take a look at how the Lord develops the people he cares about:
Joseph couldn't wait to get out of prison:
Joseph's prison term prepared him to be God's man on Egypt's throne.
Moses couldn't wait to bring justice to his people:
Moses' years as an exiled sheep herder equipped him as the leader of Israel.
Joshua couldn't wait to see the Promised Land:
Joshua was being prepared to lead Israel into the Promised Land.
Elisha couldn't wait to walk in Elijah's shoes:
Elisha was being prepared to handle twice the anointing.
Paul couldn't wait to travel the Roman empire and stamp out Christians:
Paul's travels were preparing him for years of missionary service.
Peter couldn't wait to start a fishing business:
Peter was being prepared to be a fishers of men.
Paul couldn't wait to get out of jail:
Paul was being prepared for the writing of one half of the New Testament.
Jesus couldn't wait to preach in the temple at Jerusalem:
Jesus was being prepared to carry HIS Father's message everywhere.
Just think about it: Wherever you are --- Whatever you are doing right now ---- is a God appointed experience --- to further HIS Kingdom on earth. If this message is for you --- STOP what you are doing --- and ask the Lord right now:
Jesus, I can't wait to get out of these circumstances of ____________. Show me how, when and where to use this experience for your Kingdom. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
