Strength in These "Trying Times" PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, December 03, 2011 09:47
Something a little different this morning.  True Short Stories/Comments from individuals whom, as I say, "Have Been To The Mountain", "Up against the Wall" and "Stomped in the Dirt" in life. but fell back on and relied in the only "True Source of Power" in these trying times.

======================

The Bible says God comforts us in our troubles so that we can comfort others (2 Corinthians 1:3-5). One way we comfort others is to offer them hope in the midst of hard times. When we read testimonies of God's faithfulness to other Christians who have struggled through hardships, we gain courage to keep on believing, trusting, and not lose faith.

I'd like to give you the opportunity to offer hope and encouragement to fellow believers who are facing difficult times today. Comfort a brother or sister in need by sharing your hard times story.

Still Praising

My wife of 8 years told me 6 weeks ago that she was gay, was having an affair with the worship leader from our church, and they are still together. I have four kids and thought I had the best marriage possible. She left all of us but still sees the kids. I have been to rock bottom. I still praise God as he is guiding me through this most difficult time in my life. It is not easy; I am devastated, but I know that without God I could not make it.

"For It is Mine to Avenge"

Notice that part of that verse? Well my boyfriend broke up with me for no reason then laughed about it. I prayed to God that I couldn't go through this without Him. I said I want to take revenge, but I'm gonna leave that up to You. The next day, my ex does get revenge, which I would rather not go into...but this is showing how God really will take revenge, but not bad revenge..get what I mean? I think you do...only when the person really deserves it. I later thanked him today. Isn't it amazing what God does to keep us comforted?

God is My Strength

I want to appreciate this ministry for the wonderful work, and my prayer is that God will continue to uphold you all. Actually, I have been applying this Scripture (Philippians 4:13) and I must say it's been great for me and my family every day. We always hold unto this verse by meditating on it day and night. When the situations seems unfriendly, His strength is always there to see us through. I want to encourage every beloved to always rest on God's strength. Peter had a choice to make whether to cast his net into the same spot they had toiled all through the night yet he and his brethren trusted in God's strength and were never disappointed (Luke 5:1-7). Thanks and stay blessed.

My Hope is In You

I'm dealing with multiple family issues right now...my parents are thinking of divorcing...they can barely be in the same room without hurting the other person with words or an unnecessary look. This has been going on for years...tonight has been awful. So I looked up Bible verses that helped during hard times and that's how I got here. Sometimes I need God to show He's really there even though it doesn't seem like it. After reading this, I can see how God always provides (even if it's not right away) or how he always answers prayers (even if he's silent for a while). God will never leave me nor forsake me...we just need to trust in Him. Lord, I put my hopes, fears, worries in Your hands..I pray my brother and dad will come back to you...nothing is possible without You. Thank you all for sharing at least a bit of your testimony...you've helped remind me that God is always there for me and that I should lean on Him. He is my rock. :)

I Am a Mess

Lord, Father, I always put alcohol, money, and just about everything else before you, however, I surely would like to thank you for my sister who's always by my side, as she was sent to me.

I Am a Sinner, But I Love God

I am being put in a position at work that will not allow me to continue school and effect my family. I am a single mom and my children need me. I know God knows what's best for me but, right now this is hard for me to understand. When I try to give it up to God, the worry still creeps up on me. I trust God I just don't understand his choices for me right now.

God is Still Able!

God has helped me get through the hardest break up of my life..now he is turning the situation around for his glory..I know God is with me because my depression wasn't what it should have been...I know he has got something that is going to bless me...God has reminded me that through all this he is still able.

I Know the Lord Will Make a Way for Me

This year, 2011, has been my worst year, but even though it was my worst I got to grow more close to the Lord. My life is a mess right now. I have an incurable disease, my financial situation is terrible and I might be let off at work. But through all this I'm rejoicing as I know when I get through this my character will be changed and I will learn to endure as I know my Lord is with me, through this I will not give up and will not let the devil win. I know I will be testifying soon as my Lord said he has plans to prosper me.

God Has Better Plans

God has never forsaken me. I remember crying so hard when my mother told me she won't be affording my university education, so I prayed and fasted for weeks. l tried the army but they rejected me, but God did have a better plan for me. I'm now studying at the best university in Africa, 10 more times expensive than the first my mom couldn't afford. God brought back my father in my life who can afford all.

God is Good

I am just getting out of a bad 9-year long relationship. I thank God for giving me the strength to leave that man. God saw the stress I was going through in that relationship. When I left I felt free like I had just left prison. God gave me strength, love, comfort, and peace. I thank God so much for everything. God is great!

God Has Blessed Me Again

I was backed up on my mortgage and afraid I was going to lose my house. The bank was trying to work with us for months. The stress was overwhelming and one night I prayed so hard and somewhere I heard just let it go and turn it over to God. And I stopped worrying. I just knew somehow it would work out. My husband got a letter a couple of days later. Not only did they work out a payment plan with me, my interest rate went from over 7% to 2%, over 1000 saved a month, never did I even think that was possible. And since then I feel so much closer to the Lord. I am blessed and highly favored. People, take it from me, when you need help, he is the only answer and I am not a church going person. Just a sinner saved by God's good grace. Blessings to all.

God Changed My Mind

I remember when I thought that people were against me and that I was losing my mind. I sought God by prayer and studying the Bible and God changed my mind. Now I'm looking at the world from a brand new set of eyes. I see the world differently. Thank God!
—Guest Lorian

Faithfulness of God Almighty

I remember when ma Dad was poisoned and he continually vomited blood, but God so gracious healed him and today he is alive and God also saw me through in paying ma school fees...He gave me hope and joy when I thought all was lost...He has always seen me through hard situations and circumstances...I love and cherish him so much...He is my own no 1...let Him be glorified forever more, Amen...

God Was There for Me

I was going through a very hard and I was doing some kinda bad stuff to people. Everyone turned there back on me apart from one person--that person was God. I prayed to him asking for forgiveness and he granted my wish. Ever since then I have lived a much happier, stress-free life.

Faith is the Key

I've experience many difficulties growing up. My parents divorced, I had to move to another country, my relatives looked down on me coming from a broken family, I never have my own home. But God brought me to him through my boyfriend who spread the gospel to me. Ever since, I have been praying and having faith and God has changed my life in a way that no one would be able to do. I am proud to be a living testimony and continue to love and grow closer to God. To my brothers and sister out there, continue to have faith and do the best and God will do the rest! Amen.
